Come to class and learn how to flip your own!
Crepes make for the perfect summer dish and they are easy to prep ahead. We’ll make them with local eggs and milk – you’ll be amazed at how easy it really is.
Our menu: Once we perfect the master crepe recipe, we’ll use these golden thin pancakes to create a spectacular local mushroom and cream sauce crepe; then we’ll take it to Italy with my recipe for homemade manicotti; next a fabulous Mexican inspired chicken enchilada crepe and we’ll finish with my favorite flame-your-own crepes Suzette! Class this afternoon starts under the gazebo in the middle of the pond at Middle Ground. We’ll be joined by our friends from Good Cup Coffee who you’ll find brewing things up every Saturday morning at the Matthews Community Farmers Market. After a fun latte art demo, we’ll all get a chance to try our hand at creating this decorative addition of cream to our coffee.
Then it’s off to get a better lay of the land as we walk a farm tour from the pond to the orchard, the hydroponic lettuce barn and see their new hemp production. We’ll also meet the friendly farm dogs, goats, chickens and ducks.
Late Sunday Lunch
After the tour, we’ll cook with all that is in season and part of the Middle Ground Farm harvest.
Think recipes with fresh figs, elderberries, peaches, plums and more. We’ll also incorporate Middle Ground Farm‘s pork, eggs and hydroponic lettuce into many of the recipes.
