With so many Charlotte area chefs and restaurants offering Mothers’ Day Brunching options, I thought I’d get you started with a short list of hidden gems that may not already be on your Mothers’ Day radar.
Look for updates later this week as restaurants begin to announce menus and Mothers’ Day specials.

As you being to make plans, please remember with crowds and Covid restrictions still in place, to make reservations, if that is an option; and to continue to wear a mask at public venues, unless you are eating , even if you have already been vaccinated.

Mothers’ Day Hidden Gems take to the Airwaves

I’m delighted as always to share my restaurant recommendations any time of the year with my friends at WCNC’s Charlotte Today. Here is the segment as it aired on Tuesday April 27, 2021.

I taped this segment with show co-host Mia Atkins via Zoom, but you know me, I had to dress it up a bit… so I sat outside on the deck with a Cheers to Moms brunching cocktail in hand.

My sweet hubby Tom Billotto, not only did the filming, but he doubled as my teleprompter, so I wouldn’t forget all the places I wanted to share! I love this man! Thought you’d enjoy this fun behind the scenes look….

Parking at Rosies and the gardens is tight, but when the lot on N. Davidson street is full, don’t panic. There is plenty of room just off Alexander Street in the CATS public parking deck, just a short stroll around the corner.

Every day can be Mothers’ Day at Community Matters Cafe

Community Matters cafe is located in Uptown Charlotte, off Cedar Street at 821 W. 1st Street.

Mothers’ Day Brunching at Home

A fun childhood memory of mine was always walking up early, sneaking into the kitchen with my brother, Jaimie and making mom breakfast in bed. These last two options for bunching at home, just in case mom wants to sleep in and enjoy a late brunch at home or in bed, will help with the process.

cinnamon rolls

I usually save homemade cinnamon rolls for a snow day post, but since we didn’t really have a snow day this past winter, I’m reaching back to share to help give all the mom’s out there a sweet start to the day. Plus, baking is great way for Dad to bond with the kiddos!

To make the blooming rolls, follow my recipe and once you have the sheets of dough rolled and cut, use this fun technique I found on a reel while scrolling through instagram…
